Risaalaat (“Rizzo”) was the first horse bought by Let’s Get Racing and also our first winner. So, she’s very special to us! She’s also beautiful with a kind nature, calmer than many fillies her age and a cuddle monkey in the stable.
She is a bay (4 year old) and in training with Mark Walford (http://www.markwalfordracing.com), who is based near York and who trains from his family’s farm, Cornborough Manor, with stunning views over the Yorkshire countryside.
Risaalaat (Ire) has an excellent pedigree as she is (fathered) by the group 1 winning champion Mukhadram, out of (mother) listed-placed Naadrah and was bred by the world famous Shadwell Estate. This makes her highly sought after for breeding after her racing career.
We bought her at the Newmarket Tattersalls Sales at the end of October 2019 and have gotten to know her over the last year. We spent much of the 2020 season trying to work out how best to unlock her ability. This means her handicap mark has fallen and is very competitive.
We now know she is 7 furlong horse who can stretch her stamina out to 1m, if needed. If she were a human should would be something like a 400m runner – somewhere in between a sprinter and a middle-distance runner.
Rizzo has proven herself on the track by winning twice in 11 starts (as of 06/11/20). She won her maiden in Ireland and won her first race in the UK at Kempton on the 3rd November 2020. She will continue to run through the winter, until she lets us know it is time for a break before the new season begins. Synthetic surfaces seem to bring out the best in her, as does running around a bend.
Risaalaat (Ire) is available for a one off fee of £150 plus 12 x monthly instalments of £15.00. This buys a 12 month 0.5% lease share.
Let’s Get Racing also own 5 other horses: A 2 year old called Tipperary Tiger, a 2 year old called Definitely Alright, two broodmares Passionate Love (aka Peanut) who is in foal and Grape Shot (aka Doris), also in foal and a filly foal (Gregorian-Passionate Love) who we hope to get in training next year.
